Ukraine is considered to be the breadbasket of the world, but in the same time nearly 14.6 mln of Ukrainians need basic humanitarian assistance including food first of all because of increased povetry and tough life conditions.
Using the experience we have gained in supporting those affected by the war, we have now developed a food security programme that we believe is more sustainable than traditional food distributions and allows for a transition to long term social support for vulnerable people.
SOCIAL Center model foresees that namely socially vulnarable people (having received a special card) are authorized to buy fresh and quality food for a SPECIAL PRICE that is 30-50% lower than in the food stores. Plus, to receive FREE legal and psychological support.
In January 2025 have started the pilot Social Center in Korosten, Zhytomyr region.
It is a small Ukrainian town, 60,000.00 people. 5,000.00 people are considered as socially vulnerable.
During initial 4 months:
1500 Social Center cards were distributed to socially vulnerable people
2300 food kits were distributed for a special price
6200 retail food items were distributed for a special price
636 sanitary hygiene items were distributed for a special price
In general, 2400 socially vulnerable people in Korosten received this kind of food support through our Social Center.
152,000.00 UAH was saved by people thanks to Social Center program.
